Our values

What we go for and stand for every day.

Crafting with care, care by crafting

What is the main ingredient in everything we craft? The love and care we put into our work. We never stop perfecting our products (if we can resist eating them). Quality is always on our hungry minds, as is the well-being and safety of our colleagues and consumers.

Through our craftsmanship we are also giving something to the world. We are setting new standards for taste, convenience and sustainability. That’s how we live up to our responsibility towards the planet and our fellow people.

Confident and courageous

We know we are pretty good at what we do. We are not shy about it, we are openly ambitious and self-assured. At the same time we realise how we became so confident about our skills: it’s the people we work with.

We create a work environment where everybody can be creative, courageous and confident about trying new things. Honest mistakes are a part of that. But from our experience: if you give someone the right to fail, they usually don’t.

Day by day, side by side

Big changes don’t happen overnight. That’s why we are working towards our goals one day at a time. Dreaming big but staying wide awake. Rolling up our sleeves, side by side.

As a single team that transcends national borders or business units, we work in partnership with colleagues, suppliers, clients, customers and everyone involved. Treating each other as equals and respecting each other’s uniqueness, most quirks included.

Sébastien, chef, cooking lab

Sébastien has come a long way since joining What's Cooking? in 1997. After twenty years of hard graft in an industrial kitchen, he moved into the more experimental world of food product development. These days, he prepares custom samples, tests new recipes, and works with the R&I team to dream up the products of tomorrow. With his invaluable knowledge of production lines, in-house recipes and on-site constraints, Sébastien bridges the gap between tradition and innovation. What motivates him every day? The variety at work, the friendly ambience, and the sense of pride he feels when he sees his ideas come to fruition, the taste of success... and getting to feed an entire market.

Mathieu, technician

Mathieu joined What's Cooking? two years ago as an electro-mechanic after a career in industrial electricity. He brings his curiosity and rigour to the job, tackling technical challenges on a daily basis: identifying the cause of a complex breakdown, looking for a creative solution, getting a machine up and running again... This is what makes him tick. What he likes about working at What's Cooking? The friendly working atmosphere, the flexible organisation, and the opportunity to grow his career at his own pace. Ever the motivated employee with a discreet presence, Mathieu is appreciated for his professionalism and high level of adaptability.
